Cambridge based Kershaw Insulation are celebrating after being awarded the Highly Commended Award in the East of England Energy Efficiency Awards.
Nominated under the category of Insulation & Fabric Installer and Contractor of the Year, Kershaw Insulation attended the awards ceremony on the 2nd May at Stansted Airport.
Russ Crane, Director of Sales said "We are delighted to have been awarded the Highly Commended award in the Insulation and Fabric Installer Contractor of the Year category, energy efficiency is extremely important to Kershaw. he continued " Being recognised for the way in which we work to fulfil our environmental objectives is fantastic. We feel it vital to be environmentally aware, especially with the contracts we carry out for both regional and national housebuilders - we always look to pass our knowledge on to our clients, enabling them to reach their own energy efficiency standards."
The award, which is one of many celebrated on the night, recognised the efforts of fully qualified contractors that demonstrate a high standard of quality workmanship or best practice within their local community.
The East of England Regional Energy Efficiency Awards were launched in September 2016 following the changes in Government Energy Efficiency Policy. Previously known as the East of England Regional Green Deal & ECO Awards, these awards were set up in 2014 to help recognise the work being carried out by the energy efficiency sector in the East of England in their delivery of the Green Deal Finance Initiative and Energy Company Obligation Scheme.
The Energy Efficiency measures introduced by the Government following the Energy Act 2013, included the Energy Company Obligations (ECO) Scheme, the Green Deal Finance Initiative, and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). These measures together help homeowners reduce their energy bills, tackle fuel poverty and reduce Carbon emissions.
The aim of the Energy Efficiency Awards is to provide public recognition for the excellent work the Energy Efficiency sector is doing in implementing these schemes. And to help encourage best practice within the Energy Industry as it works to improve UK housing stock.
